Mastering Service

Audio mastering is the final step in music production before a song or album is released on CD or digitally, and ensures that your project translates optimally on as many playback devices and media as possible (for example, radio, HiFi, smartphone, club PA, etc.). During mastering, the tracks are aligned so that an album or EP, for example, has good listenability. Weaknesses of each song are eliminated, mistakes are corrected and the strengths of your mix are highlighted. Fade In and Fade Outs are set, the tracks are edited and adapted to the medium (vinyl, CD, iTunes, YouTube) on which it will later be released.

Our studios are specialized in mastering with worldwide online service. Besides high-quality analog equipment and acoustically optimized recording studios, our engineer André “Masterati” counts years of experience in professional music production and feels at home in almost all genres. In online mastering, too, we place great emphasis on contact with the customer. Together we try to find the best way to make your music sound competitive and exactly as you want it after mastering. Your songs will be mastered by André in the online service with the same effort, equipment and love as if you were in our studio!

STEREO MASTERING

In stereo mastering, your mix is mastered as a sum. This is the classic mastering method, but it requires a clean mix to get the best result later. We will gladly provide you with a free mix check after booking.

STEM MASTERING

Stems are individual groups such as all guitars, all vocals, all drums and bass each as a combined audio track. This type of mastering gives us the opportunity to dig deeper into your mix if necessary.

AUDIO RESTORATION

We surgically remove hiss and hum, unwanted background noise or ambient noise from your audio material.

FILM SOUND MASTERING

We will be happy to adapt your film sound mix for the TV standard EBU R128 and ATSC A/85 for the DCP (Digital Cinema Package).

STREAMING READY

For each project we create a technically optimized “streaming ready” version for the streaming services. This ensures that your songs are optimally translated to Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Co. This service is free of charge for you!

DDP IMAGE & GLASMASTER CD

To have your project pressed on CD at the pressing plant you need a DDP image or a glass master CD. This contains your finished master with all information like title name, EAN and ISRC code and breaks.

WHY SHOULD I HAVE MY SONG MASTERED BY A PRO?

There are a number of reasons why a commercial, dedicated mastering studio usually produces better results than mastering your music yourself, or perhaps leaving it to someone who doesn’t deal with the subject matter on a day-to-day basis. In most cases, a mastering studio is better and equipped for exactly this purpose. The mastering engineer has access to high-quality selected equipment and software as well as optimized room acoustics, which small studios may not be able or willing to afford.

Despite all the technology, the most important reason is the experience that a professional mastering engineer has in terms of what he hears, how he hears it, and his ability to ultimately make the material sound good outside the recording studio on as many consumer systems as possible. Mastering is all he does day in and day out. He is familiar with his system and has spent thousands of hours with bad and outstanding music mixes of every musical style and knows what makes a balanced and competitive production. In addition, it is always advisable to have your production checked by an outside person with a trained ear.
